A Transitional Living Recovery Program

Transitional Living

The Recovery Academy helps bridge the gap between inpatient treatment and independent living. We know that facing everyday triggers can feel overwhelming when you're still healing. That's why we created a transition recovery program to make this adjustment smoother.

Many of our clients have battled addiction and mental health challenges since they were children. Mental health disorders often coexist alongside addiction, which can make the recovery process more challenging. Unlike other recovery programs, The Recovery Academy considers each client to be a unique part of our community. We understand that every individual comes from different circumstances and carries different needs and goals that require specialized support.

If you're searching for a solid foundation after inpatient treatment, consider our transitional housing in St. Paul, MN. Here, we offer the right combination of guidance and accountability to help you build the life you want.

WE ADDRESS:
Substance Use and Addiction

Many young men struggle with substance use disorders while facing societal pressures, peer influence, and underlying mental health issues.

Mental Health Conditions

Depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health conditions can impact well-being and hinder a person's ability to thrive.

Identity and Purpose

Finding one’s identity and purpose in a rapidly changing world can be daunting. Many young men experience feelings of confusion, isolation, and lack of direction.

Social and Family Expectations

Societal and familial expectations regarding success, masculinity, and independence can create pressure and contribute to stress and self-doubt.

At The Recovery Academy, we move forward together. Our compassionate team works with each client to address personal challenges through individual treatment plans. We don’t just help you overcome current obstacles— we equip you with the tools, confidence, and support network needed to build a meaningful, substance-free life.

Holistic Approach

Our program takes a holistic approach, addressing the underlying factors contributing to substance use and mental health issues. We focus on healing the mind, body, and spirit to promote long-term recovery and well-being.

Personalized Treatment

Each young man receives personalized care in our supportive housing program. We create treatment plans that fit their unique needs, strengths, and goals. Our experienced staff provides compassionate support and guidance every step of the way.

Comprehensive Support Services

From treatment planning and 24/7 support to medication management, life skills training, and recreational activities, we offer a comprehensive range of services. This ensures we address all aspects of young men’s lives. Our goal is to equip them with the tools and resources they need to thrive in recovery and beyond.

Community and Brotherhood

We foster a supportive community and sense of brotherhood. Here, young men can connect with peers who understand their struggles and offer encouragement, accountability, and friendship.

Life Skills and Empowerment

Our program helps empower young men to take control of their lives and build a foundation for a bright future. We provide education and training in areas such as budgeting, job readiness, communication skills, and building healthy relationships.

Support in Our Transitional Housing Program

In our transitional living program, we provide comprehensive support and structure to help residents navigate the transition from treatment to independent living.

OUR PROGRAM OFFERS:
Drug Testing and Accountability

Residents undergo regular drug testing at least once per week, along with breathalyzing and SoberLink checks for overnight passes. This helps ensure accountability and sobriety.

Daily Check-In Groups

Monday through Friday, residents participate in daily check-in sessions from 9-10 am. Led by Recovery Academy staff, these sessions provide valuable guidance and encouragement while fostering a supportive environment for reflection and goal setting.

Prepared Community Dinners and Weekly Grocery Runs

Family-style dinners are provided Monday through Friday and prepared by a culinary specialist. This routine helps promote healthy eating habits and community bonding. Staff also arrange transportation for residents to do weekly grocery runs every Saturday morning, facilitating independence and self-sufficiency.

TrueLink Support and Budgeting

Families can take advantage of a TrueLink Debit Card managed by our staff. This eliminates the need for direct financial transactions, enabling safe spending and budgeting for residents. This helps promote financial responsibility and independence.

On-Site Staff 7 Days a Week

With dedicated on-site staff available seven days a week, residents receive continuous support and supervision. This maintains a safe and nurturing environment without the need for “house managers.”

On-Site Recovery Coaches

Residents can meet with dedicated recovery coaches each week. These coaches help them set and reach personal goals, which can focus on everything from job exploration to daily hygiene.

Licensed Counselors

Each client has access to a licensed counselor for individual counseling sessions. They work collaboratively with recovery coaches to address underlying issues and support the client’s recovery journey.

Daily Exercise

Residents receive YMCA memberships and daily transportation accompanied by staff to exercise at the local YMCA. This helps promote physical health and well-being, which is an integral part of the recovery process.

Weekly Resident Outings and Events

Every Friday, residents join weekly outings. These outings provide opportunities for fun, friendship, and activities, such as bowling, watching movies, or outdoor adventures.

Family Support

Families receive bi-weekly email updates on their family member's progress. They also get access to 24/7 crisis support, fostering open communication and involvement in the recovery journey.

Community Engagement

The Recovery Academy supports a variety of regular outings and activities. We encourage residents to explore new interests and reconnect with old hobbies, promoting a sense of belonging and purpose.
